Asilomar for the Brain and Mind Meeting Report
In the spring of 2026, BrainMind convened Asilomar for the Brain and Mind at the Asilomar Conference Grounds in Pacific Grove, California. More than fifty years after the original Asilomar Conference on Recombinant DNA established an enduring model for scientific self-governance, a group of interdisciplinary stakeholders returned to the same grounds to ask what responsible stewardship of neurotechnology should look like today. Leading researchers, investors, founders, clinicians, policymakers, end-users, and advocates came together with a focused mandate: to move neuroethics from abstract principle into applied practice across the full neuroinnovation lifecycle.

Asilomar for the Brain and Mind Visual Summary
Alongside the meeting report, BrainMind has produced a complementary visual summary of the workshops. For each session, it captures what the group worked through and the next steps that emerged from the discussion, giving a concise account of where each strand of work is heading. It is designed as a reference for participants and as an entry point for collaborators who want to understand what the meeting produced without reading the full report.
